The CLEVELAND INDIANS have changed their 106-year-old name to the CLEVELAND GUARDIANS. The announcement was made last Friday from the team’s social media account with a video narrated by Cleveland fan TOM HANKS and background music from THE BLACK KEYS. This comes after a decade of protests about the Indians name and logo being offensive to Native Americans. The Guardians name comes from Cleveland’s bridge statues called the “Guardians of Traffic”. Twitter erupted with jokes how the mascot should be related to “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
